About
My name is Celine Merita Furtal, and I am currently a Senior Research Fellow in Applied Economics at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). I hold a Master’s degree in Economics and am pursuing a Ph.D. on “Sustainability Gaps in Non-Biodegradable Waste Management.” I am a UGC-NET qualified educator with a strong passion for teaching, research, and community-based learning. I have taught Economics at Sacred Heart H.S., Thevara, and served as Economics Faculty at Yuvan CA Institute, Ernakulam. My teaching emphasizes conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, and real-world application of economic principles. I adopt a student-centred, research-oriented approach, integrating participatory learning, data analysis, and case-based discussions to make lessons engaging and relevant. My interests lie in sustainable development, public policy, and behavioural economics, and I continuously strive to link academic knowledge with social and environmental relevance.
