GCSE Tutoring

Better Grades, More Confidence, Less Stress

GCSEs shape what comes next — sixth form, college and the courses you can choose. Our GCSE tutors help students understand the topics they find hard, practice exam-style questions and walk into the exam hall prepared.

Sessions are online and one-on-one, at times that fit around school and homework.

What Are GCSEs?

GCSEs are the qualifications most students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland take at the end of Year 11. In England they are graded 9 to 1, with 9 the highest; Wales and Northern Ireland use their own grade scales.

  • Core subjects — English Language, English Literature, Maths and Science
  • Tiers — Maths and the sciences have Foundation and Higher tiers
  • When — most exams are sat in May and June of Year 11

Many sixth forms and colleges ask for grade 4 or above in English and Maths.

  • Exam-style questions with timed practice
  • Command words — what "explain", "evaluate" and "describe" really ask for
  • Revision plans that spread the work from Year 10 to the exams

GCSE

Why the GCSE matters

  • Your GCSE results decide which sixth-form and college courses you can go on to.
  • Many courses and employers ask for English and maths at grade 4 or above — without them, you usually keep studying them after 16.
  • Universities can look at GCSEs too when you apply later on.
